Mobility at the base of the pyramid: the first generations of Bolsa Família
This project already has two finished products:
- Social Mobility in Brazil: an analysis of the first generation of beneficiaries of the Bolsa Família Program
- Dashboard “Bolsa Família: First Generations“
We currently have two projects in progress analyzing the same generations.
The first study aims to examine the effects of the Bolsa Família Program (PBF) on the educational outcomes of beneficiaries, focusing on aspects such as human capital development, educational levels, and access to higher education. This project completion is conditional on the feasibility of accessing data in the INEP´s secure data room.
The second study aims to deepen the understanding of the social mobility of the first beneficiaries of the Bolsa Família Program (PBF), addressing different aspects such as the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the role of conditionalities in the area of health and education. It also includes the update of the previous study with payroll data up to 2023 and RAIS data up to 2022.
