Exit and permanence in CadÚnico

Based on data from the Payroll of the Bolsa Família Program and the Single Register (CadÚnico) for Social Programs, we studied the exit and permanence rates of beneficiaries in the 2005 Payroll, 14 years later, in the Single Register of 2019, the main mapping for social programs that year.

Demographic characteristics of these beneficiaries are also available, and the exit and permanence rates are explored based on these characteristics and on educational clippings.

Finally, we compared the profile of those individuals who remained in CadÚnico according to beneficiary or non-beneficiary status of the Bolsa Família Program.

This collection is part of a greater effort by the IMDS to understand the dynamics of poverty in Brazil, and especially its pattern throughout the individual’s life cycle, based on the use of longitudinal panel data.

Exit from CadÚnico and Territory

The following panel presents the exit measures from the Single Registry (CadÚnico) in 2019 of beneficiaries of the Bolsa Família Program in 2005 from a territorial standpoint.

Exit rate indicators are made available for clippings of municipality, microregion, Unit of the Federation and region, being possible to filter characteristics of beneficiaries, such as gender and age group, to perform analyses.

The regional and UF distribution of beneficiaries in 2005 is also available, as well as the possibility of filters by individual characteristics.

This panel is part of a larger effort by the IMDS in its search to understand the dynamics of poverty in Brazil and its territorial divisions, based on the accompaniment of the same individuals over time.

Access to the Formal Labor Market

Based on data from the Payroll of the Bolsa Família Program of 2005 (Folha), the Single Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico) and the Annual Social Information Report (RAIS), we studied the situation of access to the formal labor market between 2015 and 2019 experienced by the beneficiaries of the program in 2005.

Three possible situations of access to the formal labor market are analyzed based on RAIS: those not found in RAIS, those found in RAIS over a 2-year period, and those found in RAIS for 3 years or more.  The divisions, in addition to evaluating access, aim to try to approximately measure the intensity of this rather strong bond, according to the number of years in which individuals were found in the formal market.

The graphs show the differences in access to the formal labor market in the period analyzed, according to the characteristics of skin color or race, gender, and age group, as well as according to the education of the homeowners who resided in 2005.  It is also possible to observe the results according to the condition in 2005 of homeowners or dependents in the Payroll, and by municipality, Unit of the Federation (UF), and region.

This collection adds to the effort put forth by IMDS to understand the dynamics of poverty in Brazil, and its pattern throughout an individual’s life cycle, based on the use of longitudinal panel data.

Access to the Formal Labor Market and Territory

Based on data from the Payroll of the Bolsa Família Program of 2005 (Folha), the Single Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico) and the Annual Social Information Report (RAIS), we carried out a territorial analysis of the situation of access to the formal labor market between 2015 and 2019 experienced by the individual beneficiaries of the program in 2005.

Here, the analysis is available for 4 territorial divisions, differentiated between those found in RAIS at some point and those found in RAIS for 3 years or more: municipality, microregion, Unit of the Federation (UF), and region. The distribution of the beneficiaries of the 2005 Bolsa Família Program by territory of origin – UF and region is also presented.

The maps and graphs show the differences in access to the formal labor market, in the period analyzed, according to the characteristics of skin color or race, gender and age group, as well as according to the condition in 2005 of holders or dependents in the Payroll.

This is one more panel of indicators that comprise the effort put forth by IMDS to understand the dynamics of poverty in Brazil, and its pattern throughout the life cycle of the individual, based on the use of longitudinal panel data.

Conditions of access to the formal labor market

A new panel of indicators from the study agenda of the First Generations of the Bolsa Família Program (PBF) is available here. This is one more to understand the dynamics of poverty and social mobility at the base of the Brazilian social pyramid, and its pattern throughout the life cycle of the individual, through the use of longitudinal panel data. This time, we analyzed the conditions of access to the formal labor market.

The proposal is to present characteristics of the last employment of the beneficiaries of the PBF of 2005 registered by the Annual Social Information List (RAIS), between 2015 and 2019. The data provided here contribute to the understanding of the conditions of insertion of this population in the formal labor market.

For comparative purposes, the graphs below also present the characteristics of the last employment, between 2015 and 2019, of individuals who were not beneficiaries of the PBF between 2005 and 2019 and were of the same age group as that of the beneficiaries.
