Minimum Wage

Thematic Line: Social Mobility and Opportunities

The research reviews the empirical literature on the effects of the minimum wage on the labor market and analyzes the historical evolution of the policy in Brazil. The focus is on analyzing the relevance of the minimum wage in the wage structure, bringing together different approaches used in national and international literature.

The project investigates how the minimum wage is inserted in the dynamics of the labor market, seeking to understand its relationship with the distribution of income and indicators such as employment and informality.
