PIX and MEI productivity

Thematic Line: Evidence-Based Public Policy

Partnership: Banco Central do Brasil (BCB) e Solange Ledi Gonçalves (USP)

In this project, we will estimate the impact of Pix adoption on the revenues of Individual Microentrepreneurs (MEI), understood as a proxy for their productivity. We will use multiple administrative databases to identify the relevant variables and employ both an instrumental variable strategy and difference-in-difference models with staggered adoption as an empirical strategy.
