Cisterns and Climate Resilience Program
The research analyzes the role of social technologies for access to water in the adaptation of poor families to extreme weather events, such as droughts and heavy rainfall. The focus is on understanding how the Cisterns Program relates to the climate resilience of vulnerable agricultural producers, considering its effects on living conditions, agricultural production, and decisions to stay or move.
The project investigates the interaction between the provision of infrastructure for access to water and the occurrence of extreme weather events, seeking to understand how these technologies influence the strategies of families in contexts of vulnerability. In the case of Legal Amazon, the relationships with agricultural productivity and school performance of the households served are also analyzed.
