PublicationsIntergenerational Mobility GENERATIONS: Analysis by decades of birth of children – from 1920 to 1980

This presentation details the evolution of social mobility of Brazilian generations between the 1920s and 1980s based on the National Household Sample Survey (PNAD) microdata for the years 1996 and 2014.
We investigated how children’s education related to their parents for those born in each decade and present indicators that synthesize this relationship for the country as a whole. In addition, we draw a comparison between women and men, and between Blacks and Whites.
We invite our readers to explore other aspects of interest starting from the Intergenerational Mobility panel: Generations, available in our indicator section.
