Widening gap in Social Security will require a new reform by 2027
Economist Paulo Tafner, from the Institute for Mobility and Social Development (IMDS) and one of the authors of the recently released book “The unfinished reform — the future of Social Security in Brazil”, sums up the problem: “Our pension system was designed for a young, developing country, with families with many children and a very different reality from that observed from the 80s onwards. All that has changed.”
