Why, despite all the advances, have we not yet extinguished poverty?
It is not the lack of resources that prevents progress on this agenda. A study by the Institute for Mobility and Social Development (IMDS) points out that eradicating poverty in Brazil would require R$ 110 billion per year, or R$ 8.5 billion per month. The electoral fund for 2024 alone will consume, from the public coffers, the amount of R$ 4.9 billion.
