Those born in poorer families have a 1.58% chance of completing higher education
Attending university and getting a diploma is still a distant dream for a large part of the Brazilian population, although access to higher education has expanded in recent decades in the country. Among the children of families that make up the poorest 25% of the country, only 1.58% complete this stage of education, according to data from the new Atlas of Social Mobility, a public and interactive platform developed by the Institute for Mobility and Social Development (IMDS), in partnership with Prospera Lab.
