The South is one of the most favorable regions for social ascension, shows Atlas of Social Mobility
The highest probabilities of mobility are concentrated in the South, Southeast and parts of the Midwest. Much of the North and Northeast have the lowest mobility rates, revealing territories where poverty tends to be more persistent between generations. The conclusions are from the Atlas of Social Mobility, released this Friday (31). The Atlas is a public platform developed by the Institute for Mobility and Social Development (IMDS), in partnership with the Prospera Lab research group.
