Study shows that 66.5% of young people left Bolsa Família in 12 years
A study carried out by the Institute for Mobility and Social Development (IMDS) revealed that most young people who were dependent on Bolsa Família in 2012 managed to leave the program in the following 12 years. Of the 15.5 million young people aged 7 to 16 who received the benefit in December 2012, 10.3 million – equivalent to 66.5% of them – were no longer in the program by 2024. This number suggests an improvement in the socioeconomic ascension of this group.
