Only 1.8% of Brazilian children reach the top of the income bracket, study shows

The probability of a Brazilian child reaching the richest 10% of the population when reaching adulthood is only 1.8%. The data is contained in the Atlas of Brazilian Social Mobility, prepared by the Institute for Mobility and Social Development (IMDS), based on information from 1983 to 2019 from databases such as IBGE, the Federal Revenue and CadÚnico.
