New Atlas shows the challenges of social mobility in Brazil
Social mobility seems to be increasingly stifled in the country, according to the new edition of the Atlas of Social Mobility, a public and interactive platform developed by the Institute for Mobility and Social Development (IMDS), in partnership with Prospera Lab. According to the survey, released this Friday, children of parents who were among the poorest 25% of the population have a 48% chance of remaining in this same group when they reach adulthood and the chances of the rich remaining richer and richer remain high, increasing the size of inequality.
