Income insecurity is another face of poverty

Poor children and adolescents are disadvantaged not only because of lower family income, but also because of the insecurity of this income, as a result of the greater presence of informal and self-employed workers in these families, without even being linked to Social Security. This scenario is portrayed in a study by the Institute for Mobility and Social Development, based on data from the Continuous National Household Sample Survey (Pnad).
