In 12 years, two-thirds of young people managed to leave Bolsa Família, survey shows

A recent study by the Institute for Mobility and Social Development (IMDS) shed light on the long-term effects of Bolsa Família on the lives of young Brazilians. Between 2012 and 2024, the survey followed 15.5 million young people aged 7 to 16 who received the benefit as dependents and revealed important trends in social mobility and inequality.
