Digital divide grows in pandemic and inequality increases

According to the Institute for Mobility and Social Development (IMDS), recently created by economists Arminio Fraga, former president of the Central Bank, and Paulo Tafner, only 29% of the children of parents with no schooling whatsoever have access to broadband. In households where parents have higher education, this share increases to 89.4%. According to the survey, 55% of the children of unschooled parents do not have access to the Internet. The number drops to 4.9% when parents complete university.
