Few issues arouse as many controversies in the public debate as affirmative action programs, public or private, which aim to confer resources or special rights to members of some social group. Aware of this but fulfilling our duty to bring evidence to the debate of public policies relevant to the promotion of social mobility in Brazil, we present a review of the academic literature evaluating the impact of vacancy reservation programs for minorities and populations identified as vulnerable.
