Graduated in Economics from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (1989), has a Master’s in economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1997) and a doctorate in Economics from the Universidade Federal Fluminense (2007). He is a researcher at the Institute of Applied Economic Research (IPEA) since 1998 and professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro since 2009. He has experience in the area of Economics, with an emphasis on Human Resources Economics, working mainly on the following topics: labor economics, minimum wage, poverty, inequality, and evaluation of social programs.
