Outcome of the billionaire trial on pension reform may be postponed to 2025

An estimate made to Valor by Paulo Tafner, economist and CEO at the Institute for Mobility and Social Development (IMDS), points to an impact of R$300 billion for the Union in ten years. The Social Security specialist also calculated two risks that would raise this number: the return to a single charge of 11% (charged before the reform) and lawsuits asking for reimbursement of the amounts charged since 2020, when the progressive system was instituted.
