Neither-nor youths can reduce potential GDP growth by 10 percentage points in 30 years

Young people aged 25 to 29 who neither study nor work can lead to a loss of up to 10 percentage points in the growth potential of the Brazilian Gross Domestic Product (GDP) over the next 30 years. The projection was made exclusively for Estadão/Broadcast by the CEO of the Institute for Mobility and Social Development (IMDS) and specialist in Social Security, Paulo Tafner. To arrive at such an affirmation, he projected what would be the expansion of income of the Brazilian population in this age group if they were at a higher level of education, similar to that of Chile.
