37,000 people from Marabá have an income of half a minimum wage
The Institute for Mobility and Social Development (IMDS) recently released a study that tracked the reality of the “children of Bolsa Família” 14 years later (between 2005 and 2019).
The Correio de Carajás report analyzed the data referring to Marabá and found that 15.8% of dependents aged 0 to 16 years, who in 2005 were beneficiaries of the program, continued to be in 2019. Another 16.1% remained in the Cadastro Único, but left Bolsa Família.
