Well-Being Inequality Index
The Well-Being Inequality Index is inspired by the methodology proposed in the article Race and Economic Well-Being in the United States (Brouillette, Jones, and Klenow, 2021), which measures well-being inequality between non-white and white people based on variables such as life expectancy, consumption, and leisure.
The research applies this approach to the Brazilian context, calculating the index for the country’s population, comparing the results obtained, analyzing the relative weight of each variable in the calculation of well-being and performing counterfactual exercises.
