The Bolsa Família Program and the complementarity between equal results and equal opportunities

In the study developed by the Institute for Mobility and Social Development (IMDS), “Social Mobility in Brazil: An analysis of the first generation of beneficiaries of the Bolsa Família Program”, the effects of the aid on the economic reality of current adults, having participated as children/adolescents of the program, are analyzed. The BFP falls under the Conditional Cash Transfer Programs (CCTPs), a policy commonly adopted by developing countries (IPEA, 2007).
