Temporary relief from emergency aid of R$ 600 had greater impact among children, study shows
A survey conducted by economist Paulo Tafner for the Institute for Mobility and Social Development (IMDS), using as a basis IBGE’s most recent National Household Sample Survey (PNAD) and considering as poor the population with an income of up to half a minimum wage per person of the family, showed a drop of 2.2 percentage points in poverty between 2019 and 2020, after the implementation of the R$ 600 benefit in 2020.
