Social mobility is still low in Brazil, but programs like Bolsa Família make a difference

The new Atlas of Social Mobility, launched by the Institute for Mobility and Social Development (IMDS), shows that only 14% of white men born into low-income families manage to climb the social ladder. In the case of non-whites and women, this percentage is even lower. The data were published in a report by O Globo newspaper.
