The Institute for Mobility and Social Development (IMDS) has released the Atlas of Social Mobility, which shows that in Brazil, only about 10% of the population aged 35 to 42 who were born among the poorest 50% of the population manage to reach the top 25% of the income bracket. According to the study, 49% of children born between 1983 and 1990 fared better than their parents as adults. And if you belong to the poorest 25%, your chances of reaching the top 25% are only 2.5%.
