Population in extreme poverty grows 7.9% in one year and RN has the highest increase among the states in the country, according to the survey
The population below the extreme poverty line increased by 7.9% from 2020 to 2021 in Rio Grande do Norte, which is the largest percentage increase in one year among the states in Brazil.
This is what the survey on monetary poverty that was released by the Institute for Mobility and Social Development (IMDS) this June points out.
