More than 10 million young people leave Bolsa Família in 12 years, reveals IMDS study

A study by the Institute for Mobility and Social Development (IMDS) analyzed the trajectory of 15.5 million young people who lived in families benefiting from Bolsa Família in 2012. These individuals were between 7 and 16 years of age at the time of the initial research study. Twelve years later, in 2024, 10.3 million of them, or 66.5%, no longer depended on the program.
