Inequality in Brazil: distribution of opportunities influences social mobility

Brazil faces historical challenges of inequality, where place of birth and residence weigh on the possibility of improving life, points out the Atlas of Social Mobility, which will be launched this week. The survey shows that smaller regions, such as the Southern Region, offer more opportunities for the poorest, while large urban centers such as Rio and São Paulo have low social mobility.
