How many beneficiaries get formal jobs in Brazil?
A recent study conducted by the Institute for Mobility and Social Development highlights the impact of the Bolsa Família program over two decades, revealing that 64% of beneficiaries have managed to leave the Cadastro Único. Since the launch of Bolsa Família, the program has played a crucial role in reducing social vulnerability.
The study shows that more than half of the beneficiaries were able to overcome the initial condition of need. In addition, the data reveal that, of the 1.1 million jobs generated for people linked to Bolsa Família until September of this year, 543 thousand were destined to non-white individuals. This data highlights the importance of the program not only in economic insertion, but also in the promotion of racial equality in the labor market.
