COP30 is an opportunity to engage the population in the climate adaptation plan
CEO of the Institute for Mobility and Social Development and associate researcher at Fipe, Paulo Tafner believes that it is necessary to clarify and offer incentives to mobilize people to be concerned about the issue. For this, he says that the message must be direct:
— Whether or not sea levels rise depends on where you live. For those who live on top of the mountain, rising sea levels mean nothing. But this has an impact on people’s lives, and this is what has to be made clear to the public: why does climate change impact your life? And how does it impact your life? And derived from this, how can we generate collective actions and public policies to mitigate the effects of this?
