Bolsa Família completes 20 years with the challenge of removing Brazil, once again, from the Hunger Map
According to data from the Institute for Mobility and Social Development, between 2005 and 2019, about 20% of the program’s beneficiaries between 7 and 16 years of age did not leave the Cadastro Único and still received the benefit. The level of education of the majority who remained in the Cadastro Único after 14 years is elementary or junior high school level, with 35.3% having completed only the initial years (elementary school). Of this same group, 22.5% completed high school and less than 1.5% finished higher education or more advanced degrees.
