Bolsa Familia campaign also shows Brazil reconciling
Since its implementation, statistics have shown the success of the program. Published in April 2022, a survey conducted by the Institute for Mobility and Social Development (IMDS) revealed that only 1 in 5 children of the first generation of beneficiaries of the program still received Bolsa Família 14 years later. That is, 80% of the next generation no longer depended on income transfers.
Another IMDS survey, from September 2023, shows that more than 64% of children and adolescents who received Bolsa Família in 2005 left the Single Registry by 2019, a number equivalent to 7.45 million young people.
