High rate of young people who neither work nor study worsens the Social Security situation in Brazil

The ratio of 7 to 1 as the ideal ratio to balance the social security accounts was made by the economist, director and founder of the Institute for Mobility and Social Development (IMDS), Paulo Tafner. The calculation takes into account the benefits granted and the current taxpayer base, in addition to the informality rate. In this context, the meme “every day a different 7 to 1”, created after the thrashing suffered by the Brazilian National Team in the 2014 World Cup to Germany, to define negative situations, can define the scenario well.
