Territory and intensity of school abandonment and dropout



This panel comprises the series of indicators of the thematic axis of dropout and school abandonment, which seeks to understand the construction of human capital of the country’s children, adolescents and young people.

Based on data from the School Census, provided by the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira - INEP -, the panel presents indicators of dropout and abandonment per year and stage/grades of education, in a territorialized manner, explaining the intensity of the problem by Unit of the Federation and municipality. It is possible to visualize the results over the years, from 2008 to 2020, and make comparisons by rural or urban area, sex and skin color or race of students, as well as based on the division between those with or without age-grade distortion.
